antigreg :
November 26, 2000 — Unconditional love
I'm feeling very motivated today. I finally mailed my mom a cheque for my VISA bill (which is still being mailed to my old address in Richmond), I did one question of physics homework (although I never figured out the answer, despite about an hour of trying), and I ordered 1" pins for antigreg. I'd order the new stickers, too, but I don't want to burn myself out here.
After I wrote the first paragraph of this journal, I was forced to go to a house meeting and "Happy Birthday" was sung. I don't feel much older or happier than I did when I was 18.
Alex and Will both called from Ottawa to wish me a happy birthday as well; Andrew called yesterday and today, having confused my birthday with Alex's. And he got the answering machine both times. What're the odds?
Meanwhile, Johnston bought me bagels and a Sunny Day Real Estate CD, leaving them for me before I woke up. He's a good kid, that Johnston.
Overall, though, I'm not a huge fan of birthdays.
The highlight of the day was getting the email that Gillian had sent three days ago that would've prevented the confusion that followed my not getting it, as outlined in much detail in yesterdays journal entry. Let this be a warning to all of you: if I do get your email, it might be with a 72-hour time lapse. I need to switch to a new server.
Oh, and after the joys of having the people who printed my stickers end all their correspondence with "Love," I've found that the people I'm having print my antigreg buttons are doing the same thing. Getting things printed from DIY-type places is the best. They're ever so much friendlier than, say, the people who host my Web site and who are always vaguely snide with their replies to support emails. I've already mailed my cheque for the pins, so I should have them within a few weeks. My site will finally be able to move to the next level. You know, the level where you have pins.
My heart's not really in this as I've still a bunch of emails to get caught up on and the Bran Van 3000 site to finish and upload. But hey, at least I didn't combine days again. It's a bad habit that I've definitely got to work to get rid of. But if I felt this motivated everyday, it would be a lot easier.
