October 13-14, 2000 — Apathy is for suckers
Nathan, everyone's favourite anti-greg villain, hit me with a camera tripod and called me bad names many times over the course of the day. So I even made the subject for the journal a subtle Nathanism. How cool is that?
Now that I've got your attention, I'd like to apologize for my general laziness with journal entries and with the anti-greg tv camera as of late. I've been too sick and melancholy-ridden to do daily journals, and the power went out for awhile yesterday, which caused me to accidentally leave the camera off for quite awhile. Silly me. Hopefully I'll be back on track now, but no promises.
Yesterday was another Jonovision-filled Friday. Well, it was our second evening of what will no doubt be a university career made notable entirely by our trips to see Jono, anyways. The topic this week was something about going to university, and Andrew, Johnston and I seemed to get a lot of camera time as audience members. I'm pretty sure I'll even be visible during the Gemini Awards (like the Emmy Awards, but Canadian, and worse, if you can imagine) when Jono does a little tribute to the Royal Canadian Air Farce people. During the show, they kept cutting to Andrew and Johnston whenever they wanted to show audience reactions, and when Jono said, "To some, university's all about getting wasted," they cut to me shaking me head while the rest of the audience yelled and screamed. Whoo. (Although, despite my excitement, I could quite possibly be edited out in the end.) The show's going to be airing on October 26th, so check it out as SMHS "represents" (Jay-Z -- Jason Zebchuk to his friends -- was also in the audience) on the media monolith that is the CBC.
Andrew stayed overnight and got the full Middle House party experience, or lack thereof. We watched the Camp Kill Yourself movie again, which generally means a good time was had by all. Who wouldn't enjoy watching people falling down and jumping off buildings and generally doing very stupid things?
Today I went downtown with Andrew and looked around on Queen St. for a little while. I found the four-gauge plugs that I kind of want, but they weren't gauged properly (one was more a five-guage, and they were both too small), so I passed. Eventually. I'm in no rush, but I think I'm probably going to go to two-gauge plugs by Christmas. Y'know, for the holiday season and all. I don't think I'm quite as antsy to get something pierced as Andrew is, though.
Once Andrew had left for work, I accidentally met up with Nathan at Black Market, where he was taking pictures with a large-format camera for school. My soul has been stolen and is now lodged in twenty square inches of large-format film.
I visited the Ryerson cafeteria and found it to be far superior to what we have to put up with here. And hearing about the Guelph food plan on Jonovision last night made me want to switch schools.
The Internet is down right now, and it will be until tomorrow morning, so the Web cam is offline and I won't be able to post this until I wake up. Technology has managed to foil my plans to return to consistent posting. Fuck.
