July 17, 2000 — Hellishly boring and useless

Work continues to be hellishly boring and useless. I still don't have the programs I need to work on most of my projects, so I'm just spending my time trying to get things together so I can actually start working soon. I've given up on the computer they gave me to work with and am buying a refurbished computer tomorrow that I'll end up taking with me to university along with the iMac. It's going to end up costing $500 after tax and is a piece of shit, but it'll get the job done and will be better than what they gave me at work.

Went to Little Caesars for a business lunch with Will. Played the Little Caesars memory game. Got pissed off at the Little Caesars memory game (the red light doesn't flash, and the pattern changes every time, for eff's sake). Spent the afternoon scavenging for computer parts in the hopes of not needing to buy a new computer. Gave up.

I didn't end up staying late since none of the projects I'd've been staying late to finish were rush jobs at all. They don't need to be done until the end of this week. So I can put them off a little longer.

Despite my predictions to the contrary, Dave paged me with directions to Jess' soccer game tomorrow and will not be spending the evening making new toys for me to play with on anti-greg. This will be my first social gathering in recent memory. We can all hope that I won't start hyperventilating.

The very beta-ish version of the slogan submission system is now on the page. I have a feeling I'll be making lots of fixes as people play around with it and try to break it, but I'll leave it for now. It at least works under normal circumstances. I think.

That's about it. I have to email Johnston back about university course selection, but I'm expecting an email from UofT tomorrow about course selection and I'm about to go to sleep, so I'll email him tomorrow. I've more or less done up my schedule for next year, and it rules. Explanations to follow tomorrow.
