June 30, 2000 — That certainly didn't age well

I can hear a train going by outside and it's not all the comforting a noise.

Anyways.

It's hard enjoying a Friday when you're working the entire weekend; I celebrated by having a longer lunch than usual, going to get food with Will, who also works downtown, and taking my time sauntering back into the office. Then I left early. Not really the model employee as far as "optics" (which I've been learning all about; it's not how you act, it's who sees it; that's the business way) go, but I'll still be getting in close to 50 hours this week, and I'm working holiday Monday, so I don't feel all that guilty.

I went with my parents to the movie store and generally felt even more pathetic than I usually do on a Friday night. I ended up sitting at home watching Lost Highway, which I already owned, until I got bored of it and moved back here.

My parents, on the other hand, are watching this movie from the sixties called The Party or something; they keep trying to get me to watch parts which they claim and side-splittingly funny, but which always end up seeming ridiculously lame. They were talking about when they first saw it and I felt very young, but also felt that I was wasting away my life without doing... anything.

I'm taking the night off as far as my continuing work on the full anti-greg update goes. My hands hurt and I don't have the energy right now. I'm going to enjoy sleeping past 6:00AM for the next three days.

I don't look forward to trying to make my way through the Canada Day crowd on my way to and from work. People.
