June 25, 2000 — Dreams that don't come true

Last night I had an impossible time sleeping. First, as a sign of how disgusting this house is, I was shocked back into consciousness several times by ants crawling along my legs. So I moved downstairs, where I was kept awake by the rain outside and the family dog panicking at that thought of thunder and lightning. I didn't get to sleep until around 3:00AM.

Today was my last day off before starting work tomorrow; I applied for OSAP, filled out my residence forms, and figured out what courses I'll be taking in the fall. Basically, I can't wait for summer to be over.

I wish I could've moved out again this summer, but I don't think I could afford it, and last summer was sort of a one-time deal anyways, as far as actually having people to live with goes.

My dream is to find a good summer job in Toronto for next summer and to live there, but I know I'll end up back in Richmond for 16 weeks, dying for university to get going again.

I've set my alarm for 5:14AM, so I probably ought to get to sleep.
