June 17-18, 2000 — 916 pounds of water

It has been a very, very long couple of days.

The rave on Saturday (perhaps my last) started for me mid-afternoon when I met up with Will to pick up 850 bottles of water at Costco. Will's truck didn't take too kindly to having 916 pounds (that's right, I brought my calculator to the rave just for these types of calculations) of water in the back and had some problems with over-heating and not starting.

We eventually got out to the venue in Gatineau, a bar that we helped coat with bubble-wrap. Security was a lot less friendly than the last party that I'd helped Jeff with, and working the door wasn't very pleasant at all. To make an epic story short, Will and I ended up driving home 12 hours after arriving and I finally got to get some sleep at around 6:00AM. I have an exam tomorrow and don't really know when I'm going to study.

I've been having a brutal time sleeping today. After getting home from the rave, I tried to go to sleep hoping I wouldn't wake up until late in the evening; I woke up at 11:00AM. After that I drifted in and out of sleep until my parents woke me up at 4:00PM to tell me we were going out for supper as a Father's Day thing; I stumbled out of bed, had a quick shower, noticed my wounds and other post-rave injuries/markings (blisters on feet; blue ink from entry stamp all over my hands (guess what my job was); a bloody, gross-looking spot on my Adam's apple; a dull humming noise in my ears), and passed out in the car.

We went to Boston Pizza in Kanata; it turns out that a girl I went to elementary school and haven't really talked to since now works there. Seven years later, she said hi and it seemed kind of strange. I'm not sure if I envy her for having been able to switch into the public system after finishing grade six...

I think I'm going to try and go back to sleep now, and get up at around 3:00AM or so to try and do some studying. My sleep habits are going to be fucked no matter what I do, so I may as well get some studying out of it and not have my mark divebomb anymore than it already has. Besides, I'm far more coherent by the afternoon, and if I get up at 3:00AM, my body will think it's afternoon by 8:50AM when my exam starts, which might be for the best.
