June 1, 2000 — Cigarettes for kids and football helmets

Yearbook distribution day. Whoo.

Actually, in all honesty, I wish I'd've had time to work on the yearbook this year. I liked being able to sneak cute little touches in last year, and it's something to do to make it look like I care a bit more.

Not many people have signed my yearbook yet, but I was quite happy with those signatures I did get. Alex's message is awesome and I want to add to what I wrote in his since I think I was a bit darker than I should've been. I drew a nice little cartoon in Dave Hopkin's yearbook, which was probably more entertaining for me than it will be for anyone who ends up reading it later, but whatever.

I got to at least help with yearbook distribution this year, which was kind of hilarious. It was an exercise in insincerity. I got to do the announcements too, asking over the PA for more people to come to library as another grade was finished, and apparently people in various classes were saying things along the lines of "What an asshole." Which was the intent. Mr. MacDonald said it must've been my fifteen minutes of fame. I hope it doesn't come to that.

I really wish I could have been able to upload the site update by now, since a lot of people are finally visiting the site. It's going to look so much better than this once I'm done, for real.

After school I went to Nathan's to film a video that he and Courtney are doing for English. It was kind of ridiculous, and involved me wearing a football helmet 3 sizes too small for me and looking like a DH kid (yeah, I'm going to hell for this, so?) while smoking coloured cigarettes designed for kids. More entertaining was Nathan taking pictures of me with a fake molotov cocktail (although the rag was really on fire) and pretending to huck it into the back yard. If the pictures turn out, I'm going to put the one of me throwing a bomb into a grassy field on the site with the caption "anti-greg: fuck nature."

I have hours and hours of work to do but I don't want to do it. Basically, I have to do two physics units before tomorrow. This probably won't be much fun. I plan on getting a note so I can skip algebra in either case, but I have to go to English and Physics since I've got work to do in both. Apparently no one's showing up anyways because it's so close to prom, but I don't really get it.

Speaking of which, now my parents are insisting that I ought to be going to prom, and I still don't care nor think I'm missing anything. Not that it matters, as it's more than a little bit late for second thoughts were I to have them.

There are a lot of things I'm trying to get clear in my head right now and today was a little bit bizarre, so I think I'll give it a couple days and try to present everything more eloquently a few days down the road since everything seems so blurred right now.
